Arts, Society and Arts Education
A vast look at the existence of Art in Society and its major role in Arts Education. Our creativity has thrived in societies, from infrastructures to politics. Art is ever present. "I found that dance, music and literature is how I made sense of the world...it pushed me to think of things bigger than life's daily routines. To think beyond what is immediate or convenient"(Mikhail Baryshniknikov). Creative mediums must also be preserved as they are links to our past and help to move a society forward for the better of all. In "Theatre of the Oppressed"August Boal states, "Theatre is a weapon. For that reason it must be fought for. We must all do Theatre to find out who we are and discover who we could become"(25).

ART
Connecting Art to Societies. How Art plays an important role in creating community architecture. Throughout history, when societies thrived economically, the Arts flourished, creating infrastructures of vast imagination and practicality. It has been all too clear that when the opposite is true, the Arts take a backseat and strive to survive.

Culture and Preservation
Introduced to such creative artists as Jeremy Dutcher. Dutcher has used his incredible music training to expand into traditional style and songs from his indigenous community. He is a member of the Tobique First Nation and has researched and brought to life traditional Maliseet songs which are no longer passed on to younger generations. His incredible popularity brings forth long lost songs to both indigenous and non indigenous audiences. Thus preserving and restoring culture. This video is a glimpse into the making of his 2023 record, Motewolonuwok. "This album was to reclaim that remembrance and understanding that the magic is inherent in who we are."(Jeremy Dutcher)
